This Privacy Policy & Terms of Use (“Agreement”) governs the use of the Chrome Extension “Sokrat-X” (“Extension”) provided by the Developer.

By installing, accessing, or using the Extension, you agree to the terms described in this Agreement.

1. Purpose of the Extension

Sokrat-X is an AI-powered browser extension that assists users with:

  • webpage analysis;
  • AI-generated summaries;
  • transcription of audio and video content;
  • extraction and processing of webpage information;
  • AI-assisted productivity features.

The Extension operates by accessing browser tabs, webpage content, and user-provided inputs necessary to perform requested functionality.

2. Information Processing

The Extension may temporarily access and process:

  • webpage content;
  • browser tab information;
  • selected text;
  • URLs and page metadata;
  • video or audio transcript-related content;
  • user prompts, commands, or queries.

This information may be transmitted to remote servers and third-party AI/LLM providers solely for the purpose of providing requested features and generating AI-assisted responses.

3. Data Storage

The Developer does not permanently store personal browsing data, webpage content, transcripts, or user-submitted content unless explicitly stated otherwise within the Extension.

Information is processed temporarily and only as necessary to provide requested functionality.

Limited technical or operational logs may be temporarily retained for:

  • debugging;
  • abuse prevention;
  • security monitoring;
  • service reliability.

4. Third-Party Services and AI Providers

The Extension may use third-party artificial intelligence providers, cloud infrastructure services, APIs, and related technologies to process user requests.

By using the Extension, you acknowledge and agree that submitted content may be transmitted to and processed by such third-party providers.

The Developer does not control and is not responsible for:

  • the independent privacy practices of third-party services;
  • how third parties process transmitted information;
  • actions, omissions, outages, or security incidents involving third-party providers.

Users should avoid submitting confidential, sensitive, regulated, or legally protected information unless they fully understand associated risks.

5. No Sale of Personal Data

The Developer does not sell personal data or browsing information to third parties.

6. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • the legality of submitted content;
  • ensuring you have rights to process or transmit such content;
  • reviewing and verifying AI-generated outputs.

AI-generated responses may contain inaccuracies, incomplete information, or misleading content.

The Extension is intended for informational and productivity purposes only and must not be relied upon as legal, medical, financial, professional, or safety-critical advice.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

The Developer does not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted availability;
  • accuracy of AI-generated content;
  • error-free operation;
  • compatibility with all websites, services, or browsers.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for:

  • loss of data;
  • business interruption;
  • inaccuracies in generated outputs;
  • damages resulting from use or inability to use the Extension;
  • third-party actions or failures;
  • indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages.

Use of the Extension is entirely at your own risk.

9. Changes to this Agreement

The Developer may update this Agreement from time to time.

Continued use of the Extension after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement.
